The land of the dogs, in Mexican folclore when a person dies of old age or natural causes they go to Mictlan, (the land of the dead), there they will have to cross a river, but the only way to do that its by being aid by a dog, a dog that the person took care in life. This image its a representation of the beginning of that journey.
